Private house in Amsterdam, 2003

The design of a comfortable home in a former shipbuilder's hall for a family with three children and their specific needs. The abundance of functions was not to diminish the transparency and openness of the house, where possible.
The undulating, wood panelled wall, features in every space in the house. It divides every floor in two halves. One half functions as the main living space/passage (like the kitchen on the ground floor, the living room on the first, and the bedroom on the second floor). The other half contains the secondary functions and/or the private spaces.
