SELECTION OF PROJECTS FROM THE PAST YEARS

Miffy MuseumOn the 21th of June the renewed nijntje museum (Utrecht) will open. Soda was responsible for the design. Earlier, in 2016, Soda completed the transformation of the Dick Bruna House into the Miffy Museum. On the 21th of June the renewed museum will open her doors.Singer LarenSoda has recently been commissioned to design a new exhibition that will be on show in Singer Laren later this year: 'LA GRANDE BLEUE'. This exhibition will present around 70 paintings made by artists who travelled to the Mediterranean from the mid-19th century onwards to work there for a short or longer period of time, which often had a major influence on their work.Zaans MuseumSoda is currently carrying out investigative designs for the Zaans Museum. These are due to the repositioning of the museum in relation to the adjacent Zaanse Schans, and the sustainability and renovation of the building. The visitor facilities will also be redefined. Museum GoudaRecently, Soda started investigative designs for Museum Gouda. Improvements to the visitor experience, routing and enhancing its appeal take centre stage. Furthermore, Soda, in collaboration with Energetica Advies, is analysing the museum's functionalities and the possibility for making the historic cluster of buildings more sustainable. Dortmunder U Since 2017, Soda has been working on various assignments for the 'Dortmunder U'. This former brewery houses several cultural institutions including the Museum Ostwall. Soda examined how the identity of the Dortmunder U as a whole could be strengthened. Museum Ostwall > exhibitionsAfter Soda renovated the Museum Ostwall - located in the Dortmunder U (DU) - as well as the joint exhibition space of the DU, Soda designed (and is designing) several exhibitions for the museum, including 'Flowers!' Exhibition halls, circulation areas and visitor spaces were renewed and adapted to highest museum requirements within the possibilities of the building being a national monument. Netherlands' Photo MuseumSoda has been invited to create a design regarding a new routing, entrance and various traffic areas in the Netherlands' Photo Museum in Rotterdam. This is motivated by the need to improve the visitor experience and the usage of the entrance area, including the passages to various spaces. Visitor related functions such as the cloakroom, shop, ticket office and introductory room will be included.Open Air Museum > Craft WorkshopSoda transformed the former entrance building of the Dutch Open Air Museum into a 'Crafts Workshop': a multifunctional space where visitors can learn about crafts by experimenting with them themselves. In April 2022, the Crafts Workshop was officially opened.Dutch Open Air Museum Soda designed in 2021 the exhibition 'Makers in the Picture' for the Dutch Open Air Museum in which contemporary craftsmen are in focus. Furthermore, Soda renovated several exhibition rooms in the oldest part of the museum. Centraal Museum > redesign Soda successfully carried out the redesign - including research and concept - of the Centraal Museum Utrecht (design by Soda+). The Centraal Museum was nominated in 2018 for the EMYA, the European Museum of the Year Award. Important elements were the connection of the building to the city, the integration into the environment, the visitor routing, multifunctional spaces, the entrance/shopping area, the catering and the garden.Rijksmuseum Boerhaave For the Rijksmuseum Boerhaave (Leiden), Soda designed the entrance-area, the shop, the cafe and the rentable spaces.
